Relatively cosmopolitan and bourgeious, Bruges is beautiful from the morning till the evening.

It is charming, lovely, romantic and has many popular places of interest....and of course delicious mussels !

The cobblestones streets, the medieval buildings, the canals make Bruges unique .This beautiful city is the capital and largest city of west Flanders and is recognised by UNESCO as world heritage center since 2000.

Medieval city of Bruges

Medieval city of Brugges...is so quaint. Feels like we've gone back to the past ...with Camelot and King Arthur !

Against the wall...

Visit some of the historical sites in Brugges eg GROENINGE MUSEUM, BREWERY, BASILICA OF THE HOLY BLOOD and the famous GROTE MARKT and BELFRY CLIMB. The happening places are around the MARKT and BURG SQUARES.

A bit similar and yet different from its neighbor, Amsterdam are its medieval  stone architecture and canals that runs thru the city. I guess they differ in that there are less bicycles in Brugges as in Amsterdam.... and replaced with horse-carriages. And this doesnt make driving less easier !

Basilica of the Holy Blood
In Bruges, we would get "lost" and explore all the small tiny lanes and corners and coincidentally we ended up right in front of the "Basilica of the Holy Blood". We were very lucky that day as we had a chance to witness the " holy blood ", which is opened for public viewing only once a week and for an hour or so. The que was very long as we took turns to go up to the altar. It is believed to be the "blood of Jesus" on a piece of cotton cloth, which is now in a vacummed glass capsule for public viewing.

and we stayed at MARTINS BRUGGES...very nice
